Ms. Patricia Villano

As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with accounting experience for the past 25 years, Patricia brings "real world" expertise to academia. Patricia has worked for various accounting firms including Deloitte and Touche LLP, as well as in the capacity of controller for private corporations.  Since 2008, Patricia has served as an adjunct Professor of Accounting in both graduate and undergraduate programs at universities and colleges in the NY-NJ area. Topics she has covered include: Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Contemporary Accounting Theory, Financial Statement Analysis, Managerial Finance and Statistics. In addition to serving as an Instructional Specialist in the Accounting Department at MSU, Patricia maintains her own CPA practice where she offers tax and accounting services for individuals, partnerships, corporations and small businesses. Patricia is an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP®) who specializes in Estate Planning and Estate/Trust Taxation issues.

Ms. Villano has been a keynote speaker for the Bergen County Bar Association and the New Jersey Statewide Women’s Financial Literacy Conference. She has conducted business seminars for local New Jersey organizations and is frequently quoted in business sections of various newspapers, periodicals and websites regarding tax-related and financial issues. Patricia has been a featured guest on The Sunday Financial News Hour radio program and has served as a panelist on Tax Talk, a cable television program. Patricia has also done volunteer work for the Tomorrows Children's Fund (Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ).  Patricia served as President of the Bergen Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA). Ms. Villano is a member of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants), NJSCPA (New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants), NSA (National Society of Accountants), the Estate Planning Council of Bergen County and the GNJEPC (Greater New Jersey Estate Planning Council).
