Professional Mentoring Program

The professional mentoring program at Montclair State University is designed to create more enriching opportunities for our students both academically and professionally.

The current program involves partnering with a local firm whose global footprint covers more than 120 countries. Qualified students are matched with their professionals for an extending mentoring relationship. The cost is completely free to students, and it is highly flexible in mentoring goals and objectives, specific topics for exploration; frequency, timing, and method of communication; and duration of the program (even though we prefer 1 year).

Mission Statement

To provide students with supportive and motivational relationships with mentors who are dedicated, thoughtful business leaders, enabling students to achieve greater competence and an increased level of self-reliance.

Professional Mentoring Program - Process Chart

Currently we have 40 students in the pilot program and we are looking to expand the program with another dozen students in Spring 2017.

For the information session on October 6, 2016 at 7:00pm in Room 101 (Feliciano School of Business building), we will be inviting our partner firm and their representative to provide an overview of their mentoring program and address any questions that our students may have.
