Ram B. Misra is a full professor in the Department of Information Management & Business Analytics, teaching a number of courses in quantitative and systems analysis, operations management and business decision making. He brings to the classroom over twenty years of experience in network engineering and technology, as well as extensive knowledge of global business and economic development trends.
Prior to joining the Business School faculty, Dr. Misra was an executive director at Telcordia Technologies (Bell Communications), heading the service assurance division. He currently provides international management consulting services in the area of software development for the health care industry, entrepreneurship and operations strategy. His academic research has focused on productivity and outsourcing, IT investment and open source processes and initiatives.
At MSU, Dr. Misra has been actively involved in bringing together faculty, staff and students belonging to the Asian Pacific Islander Community to work on issues related to professional and cultural growth. He is an editorial board member of the i-Manager’ Journal of Management and a regular reviewer and editor for the Journal of Information Technology Cases and Applications.
Dr. Misra received a PhD degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Texas A & M University, an MBA in General Management from Columbia University and BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.Dr. Misra is also a Project Management Professional (PMP).
