Hermann sintim-Aboagye is a professor in the Department of Accounting & Finance. He teaches courses both undergraduate and graduate courses in finance including investments, capital budgeting and options and financial derivatives.Prior to joining the faculty at MSU, he worked in the Banking Services (Operations) sector in Accra, Ghana.
Dr. sintim-Aboagyehas extensive theoretical and empirical publications in areas of econometric modeling, central bank independence, and revenue smoothing, inflation uncertainty and term structure. He developed an econometric framework whose results in empirical tests were comparable to the outcome of Seeming Unrelated Regression model. He won the ‘Best Author Award’ from the Journal of American Academy of Business, Cambridge in March 2006 for a theoretical and empirical article on optimal seignorage. He has presented several papers at conferences including, Financial Management Association, Southern Economic Association, Southern Finance Association, Imperial College and Cambridge University (auspices of Global Conference of Business and Economics). He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Money, Investment and Banking. He is also a faculty advisor to the Financial Management and Economics Society.
Dr. Sintim-Aboagye holds a B.A.(Hons), University of Ghana, an M.B.A.(Finance), Tulane University, and a Ph.D. in financial economics, University of New Orleans.
