Getting Down to Business
The following general admission requirements apply to all students who are interested in declaring a Business Administration major or minor.
Prospective Students
Prospective students (not currently accepted to MSU) interested in majoring in Business Administration should take these steps:
Contact the Undergraduate Admission Office for information about applications and general Montclair State University admission requirements
Submit your application for general admission to Montclair State, indicating that you would like to major in Business Administration
Current Students
Current Montclair State students wishing to major in Business Administration must apply online.
Please make note of the following entrance requirements.
Business Administration Major (all concentrations):

3.0 Overall GPA
- Completion of at least 12 college level credits
Bachelor of Arts in Economics
- Completion of at least 12 college level credits
Accounting Major*
- 3.0 Overall GPA
- 2.75 Business Major GPA
- Completion of at least 12 college level credits
*Please note that the Accounting major has a retention policy.
Once a student is in the Accounting major, a minimum 2.75 Cumulative and Major GPA must be maintained.
Business Minor
Students from any major other than Business who have a minimum 2.75 overall GPA may apply to minor in Business Administration.
