The following general admission requirements apply to all students who are interested in declaring a Business Administration major or minor.

Prospective Students

Prospective students (not currently accepted to Montclair State University) interested in majoring in Business Administration should take these steps:

Contact the Undergraduate Admission Office for information about applications and general Montclair State University admission requirements

Submit your application for general admission to Montclair State, indicating that you would like to major in Business Administration

Current Students

Current Montclair State students wishing to major in one of the majors offered in the Feliciano School of Business must apply online.

IMPORTANT:  You must read this before you apply! 

University Policy:  When students apply for admission to a major, they will be (1) accepted, (2) conditionally accepted, subject to the satisfactory completion of certain requirements by a specific date, or (3) rejected.

Students who are rejected or who do not satisfactorily complete the specific requirements by the specific date, as noted in their conditional acceptance, may not apply or reapply for admission to that major.

Before you apply, be sure you have (or will have) the required G.P.A. at the time your application is being processed (for example:  if you have indicated 'please process after this semester').

If you have any questions about this policy, please see your advisor before you apply!

Please make note of the following entrance requirements.

Business Administration Major (all concentrations):

  • 3.0 Overall GPA
  • Completion of at least 12 college level credits

Bachelor of Arts in Economics

  • Completion of at least 12 college level credits

Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality, Sports, Events, and Tourism

  • Completion of at least 12 college level credits

Accounting Major*

  • 3.0 Overall GPA
  • 2.7 Business Major GPA
  • Completion of at least 12 college level credits

*Please note the Accounting major has a retention policy. Accounting students must maintain a miniumum 2.7 major GPA

Finance Concentration**

  • 3.0 Overall GPA
  • 2.5 Business Major GPA

**Please note the Finance concentration has a retention policy. Finance students must maintain a minimum 2.5 major GPA (effective Fall 2017)

Several minors are offered in the Feliciano School of Business: 

- Business
- Economics
- Entrepreneurship

- Business Analytics Minor
- Business Relationships and Professional Selling Minor
