Anthony Palazzo received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1985. He joins the MSU faculty after over 25 years of legal and business positions including:  a publicly traded N.Y.S.E. Bank Holding Company, two publicly traded N.Y.S.E. REIT’s and his own private real estate development.   He is currently a General Counsel for Eli Global, LLC a $1 billion Global Private Holding Company operating various business lines with 4,000 people employed throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia.  He began his career as an Associate General Counsel with Statewide Bancorp, N.A., a New Jersey $4 billion dollar federally chartered Bank Holding Company where he handled commercial transactions, commercial and residential loans, construction and real estate development as well as bankruptcy and governmental compliance.   

After five years with the Bank Holding Company, he formed First Fidelity Land Company, a private real estate development and construction business specializing in the acquisition, construction, and renovation of distressed and value creative residential and commercial properties.  In 1997, he joined as a Director and legal counsel, Ocwen Financial (NYSE-OCN) a $2.5 billion equity and financing Holding Company which formed the first hybrid equity and financing national REIT – Ocwen Asset Investment Corporation – (NASDAC: OAIC). The OAIC REIT was active in the purchase of over $300M debt and equity transactions and distressed properties of all types throughout the entire United States located in the Northeast, the Mid-Atlantic Region, the Southern States as well as west to California.  Subsequently, he joined as the Director of Acquisitions, Mack-Cali Realty Corporation (NYSE-CLI) a New Jersey based $4 billion REIT which operates over 400 Class A Office buildings and Office complexes. At Mack-Cali he was the directly responsible for the supervision of acquisitions and dispositions of over $100 million in Class A Office and Industrial properties located in New Jersey, Florida, Texas and Colorado.  

From 2005 until 2015, he was an Adjunct Instructor and Adjunct Professor with New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.  His 2015 NYU class was a Speaker Symposium featuring guest speakers from major Banks and Corporations such as Deutche Bank and Canyon Capital Corporation. He has published numerous articles with The New Jersey Law Journal, the Association of Corporate Counsel and The MANN Report, Real Estate Management Section. He is a Member of the New Jersey Bar and the Association of Corporate Counsel [NJ Chapter].
